Orange Shirt Day Community Event

Join us on Tuesday, September 29 from 3 to 7 p.m. for an afternoon of activities, panel discussions, Indigenous food, and an art display reflecting the ongoing legacy of Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (September 30). This all-ages and all-nations gathering will include a Sacred Fire and opportunities for storytelling and learning with Indigenous Traditional Teachers and Knowledge Keepers. In preparation for the day, we're also hosting a series of workshops on Tuesdays till September 22, from 3 to 5 p.m.: - September 8: Learn how to make recycled paper and embed seeds to create unique, plantable paper. The paper will be used to decorate the Orange Shirt Day Community Event. - September 15: Reflect on the land, Treaties, and your responsibility, and craft a personal land acknowledgement - September 22: Write your land reflections on seed paper and make your intentions bloom.
